Problems with my 12year old Son, He can be very rude and nasty at times?

I am divorced and live 200 miles from my children every school holiday and every 3-4 weeks I do an 800 mile trip to get them. At this moment my 9 year old daughter is fine. But I get the feeling my son is very distant from me at times. At home he has a free life to do as he wants no supervision own house key ect. So when I explain about manners and things he does not like this. Last week I thought went well I finished up getting him a Fishing Kit. Which he wanted.On Monday I rang him several times he not answer the phone he later rang back saying he did not here the phone the same thing happened the next day when rang back he said he had his phone on silent and had just come in i questioned him about this he said Dad if you are going to be like this I will have to put the phone down on you I put the phone down. I have tried to ring him but he will not answer help what should I do

That kid is gettin spoilt where he is now and he don’t like it when u are stricter on him.

I dunno what u can do. A kid will always take the easy way. I know this cuz I do it all the time.

U will just have to be very solid and consistent and require proper behaviour from your son when he is with u. If he won’t talk or visit u then there is nothing u can do. But u shouldn’t ever sacrifice what u know is right just to get to keep him.

When he grows up he will realise who was doin the right thing for him. And then u will have a son who appreciates u.
